LANDYINDUS Hydraulic Multi-Jaw Orange Peel Grab | Scrap Metal, Iron Swarf & Log Waste | Class 3A (3–3.5T) | Requires 3 Aux Hydraulic Circuits | φ380mm & φ440mm Jaw Options

The LANDYINDUS Hydraulic Multi-Jaw Orange Peel Grab is a heavy-duty forklift attachment engineered for the high-efficiency handling of scrap metal, scrap iron, iron swarf, iron pins, loose logs, and mixed industrial waste. Designed for scrap metal recycling yards, steel processing plants, foundries, and waste processing facilities, this orange peel grab delivers the multi-point gripping force required to securely collect, lift, and transport loose, irregular materials that conventional two-jaw grabs and buckets cannot handle effectively.

Orange Peel Multi-Jaw Design — 360-Degree Radial Grip

The orange peel multi-jaw claw design is the defining structural and operational feature of this attachment. Unlike conventional two-jaw or clamshell grabs that apply opposing linear clamping force across just two contact points, the orange peel jaw configuration deploys multiple curved claw segments arranged radially around a central axis.

These claws close simultaneously from all sides to envelop and compress the material load within a 360-degree grip envelope. This radial, multi-point clamping action is specifically optimised for loose, irregular, and mixed-composition materials such as:

  • Scrap metal fragments & offcuts
  • Iron swarf accumulations & iron pin bundles
  • Loose logs, branches, and timber waste
  • Mixed municipal and industrial waste

The multi-directional grip prevents individual pieces from slipping between jaw contact points during lifting and transport, resulting in a more complete, secure, and efficient grab cycle compared to any two-jaw alternative when handling loose industrial waste.

Two Capacity Options: φ380mm vs φ440mm Jaw Diameter

Available in two Class 3A configurations for 3–3.5 tonne forklifts, allowing operations to match jaw spread to material volume:

  • φ380mm Model (F-DBFLJ3A30-330-φ380): Provides an opening range of 380 to 1,225mm. Optimised for handling medium-density scrap metal accumulations, iron pin bundles, and mixed waste loads where grab cycle frequency and penetration speed are the primary priorities.
  • φ440mm Model (F-DBFLJ3A30-800-φ440): Steps up to an opening range of 440 to 1,366mm. Provides the larger jaw spread required for handling higher-volume scrap metal piles, larger log sections, and bulkier mixed industrial waste loads where maximum material collection per grab cycle is required.

3 Auxiliary Hydraulic Circuits Required — Full Multi-Axis Control

The three-circuit hydraulic system provides independent control of jaw opening and closing, rotational positioning, and multi-axis grab operation. The system operates at a working pressure of 16 MPa with a hydraulic flow requirement of 60 LPM.

The three-circuit configuration enables the operator to control grab orientation and jaw position simultaneously from the forklift cab — allowing precise grab alignment with irregularly positioned material piles and accurate load placement into processing equipment (e.g., shredders, balers), transport vehicles, and storage containers without dismounting.

Robust Construction for Harsh Environments

The robust welded high-strength steel construction of the jaw assembly and grab frame is engineered to withstand the repeated impact, abrasion, and compression loads generated during high-cycle scrap metal handling. The jaw segments are designed to maintain their geometry under the deformation forces generated when penetrating and compressing dense scrap metal accumulations, ensuring consistent performance across thousands of cycles in active scrap yards and foundries.

Applications

  • Scrap metal recycling yards — collecting and loading scrap iron, aluminium, and mixed metals
  • Steel processing plants & Foundries — handling iron swarf, pin waste, and furnace feed
  • Waste processing facilities — clearing mixed industrial waste and municipal refuse
  • Timber yards & Forestry — transporting loose logs, branches, and timber offcuts

⚠️ Critical Hydraulic & Compatibility Notes:
1. 3 Auxiliary Circuits Required: This is a highly complex multi-axis attachment that requires three independent auxiliary hydraulic circuits (valves) on the forklift to operate grab opening/closing and rotation simultaneously. Standard forklifts do not typically have 3 spare circuits. Confirm your forklift has 3 available auxiliary circuits before ordering.
2. Carriage Class Verification: Confirm your forklift has an ISO Class 3A carriage and is rated in the 3–3.5T capacity range before ordering.
3. Heavy Application Warning: When handling dense materials like scrap iron or swarf, it is extremely easy to exceed the forklift's Safe Working Load (SWL). Always consult your forklift's de-rated capacity chart and consider the density of the material being grabbed (595-680kg attachment weight + material weight).
