LANDYINDUS Hydraulic Timber Log Grab | 2 or 4 Claw | 45° Tilt | Up to 2,120mm Opening | Class 3A (3–3.5T) | F-YMJ Series

SKU: F-YMJ3A30-1500-1370-2

LANDYINDUS F-YMJ Series Hydraulic Timber Log Grab | 2-Claw & 4-Claw Configurations | 45° Forward / 25° Backward Tilt | Up to 2,120mm Opening | Class 3A (3–3.5T) | Requires 2 Auxiliary Hydraulic Circuits

The LANDYINDUS Hydraulic Timber Log Grab is a heavy-duty forklift attachment purpose-built for the safe, efficient, and secure handling of raw logs, sawn timber bundles, loose log offcuts, and wood chips. Available in 2-claw and 4-claw configurations for Class 3A (3–3.5 tonne) forklifts, this hydraulic grab gives a standard counterbalance forklift the gripping power, tilt control, and load security of a purpose-built forestry machine.

2-Claw vs 4-Claw Configuration — Match the Grab to Your Timber

The choice between two-claw and four-claw configurations allows operators to optimise the attachment for specific timber handling environments:

  • 2-Claw Model (F-YMJ...-2): A streamlined, lower-weight grab solution optimised for handling individual large-diameter logs and uniform sawn timber bundles. The clean opposing-jaw grip provides excellent penetration and retention where the load is consistent and uniform.
  • 4-Claw Models (F-YMJ...-4): Adds two additional claw engagement points, creating a multi-point grip pattern. This prevents individual pieces from slipping through the grab when handling loose, irregular, or mixed-size timber loads — including log offcuts, wood chips, and bark piles. The 4-claw configuration is essential for high-cycle timber waste processing where load uniformity cannot be guaranteed.

Integrated Hydraulic Tilt — 45° Forward / 25° Backward

The integrated hydraulic tilt function delivers 45 degrees of forward tilt and 25 degrees of backward tilt, controlled directly from the forklift cab:

  • Forward Tilt (45°): Enables precise angular placement of log bundles onto processing equipment infeed conveyors, transport vehicle decks, and angled storage racks — eliminating dangerous manual repositioning.
  • Backward Tilt (25°): Retains loose timber loads, offcuts, and wood chips securely within the claw assembly during travel across rough sawmill yards and construction site terrain, preventing load loss from the grab during transit.

Curved Claw Geometry & Up to 2,120mm Opening Range

The curved claw geometry is specifically engineered to conform to the cylindrical profile of individual logs and the irregular outer surface of bundled timber stacks. This distributes clamping force broadly across the contact surface, preventing point-load damage to the timber surface while maintaining a secure mechanical grip.

The standard models offer a massive 0 to 2,027mm opening range, while the wide-body 4-claw configuration extends this to 0 to 2,120mm — accommodating everything from small-diameter plantation softwood to large hardwood sections and wide multi-row sawn timber bundles.

Optional Bucket Configuration — Grab & Scoop Capability

The carriage mounting allows for an optional bucket configuration beneath the timber grab. This enables the operator to switch between grabbing logs/bundles and scooping loose material (sawdust, wood chips, bark) within the same operational shift, eliminating the need to physically change attachments or deploy a second machine for bucket-based cleanup tasks.

Model Specifications (Class 3A | 3–3.5 Tonne Forklifts)

Model Claws Dimensions L×W×H (mm) Opening Range (mm) Tilt (Fwd/Back) Weight (kg)
F-YMJ3A30-1500-1370-2 2 1,743×1,508×1,132 0–2,027 45° / 25° 540
F-YMJ3A30-1500-1370-4 4 1,743×1,508×1,132 0–2,027 45° / 25° 625
F-YMJ3A30-1500-1520-4 4 1,846×1,508×1,279 0–2,120 (Wide) 45° / 25° 630

Hydraulic Integration | 16 MPa / 60 LPM

The two-circuit hydraulic system operates at a working pressure of 16 MPa with a flow requirement of 60 LPM. This is fully compatible with the auxiliary hydraulic circuits of standard Class 3A counterbalance forklifts. Two auxiliary hydraulic circuits (3rd and 4th valves) are required to operate both the grab and tilt functions independently.

Applications

  • Sawmills & logging yards — handling raw logs, loading infeed conveyors, and transport vehicles
  • Timber processing plants — moving sawn timber bundles and processing offcuts
  • Wood chip & waste facilities — 4-claw models for loose bark, chips, and irregular timber waste
  • Landscape material suppliers — handling raw timber, stumps, and green waste

Key Features

  • 2-claw and 4-claw configurations to match uniform vs irregular timber loads
  • Up to 2,120mm opening range — handles large hardwood and wide bundles
  • 45° forward / 25° backward hydraulic tilt — precise placement and safe transport
  • Curved claw geometry — secures cylindrical logs without point-load damage
  • Optional bucket configuration for sawdust and loose material scooping
  • Class 3A carriage mount (3–3.5T forklifts)
  • Requires 2 auxiliary hydraulic circuits

Technical Drawing

⚠️ Hydraulic & Compatibility Notes:
1. 2 Auxiliary Circuits Required: This attachment requires two independent auxiliary hydraulic circuits (3rd and 4th valves) on the forklift to operate both the grabbing and tilting functions. Confirm your forklift has 2 available auxiliary circuits before ordering.
2. Carriage Class Verification: Models are specific to ISO Class 3A carriages. Confirm your forklift has a Class 3A carriage and is rated in the 3-3.5T capacity range before ordering.
3. Load De-rating: The attachment weighs up to 630kg and pushes the load centre forward. Always consult your forklift's de-rated capacity chart to ensure safe operation before attempting to lift heavy log bundles.
